1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By engaging the services of Compass Rose Consulting, LLC ("Consultant," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("Client," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. SERVICES PROVIDED

The Consultant provides career coaching and consulting services, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Resume writing and editing

  • Cover letter development

  • LinkedIn profile optimization

  • Interview preparation and coaching

  • Career strategy consulting

  • Job search guidance

  • Professional development advice

  • Security clearance application guidance

3. NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS

IMPORTANT: The Consultant provides advisory, consulting, and document preparation services only. We do not guarantee, warrant, or promise any specific outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Receipt of job offers

  • Securing interviews or callbacks

  • Obtaining employment

  • Approval or denial of security clearances

  • Advancement in hiring processes

  • Salary negotiations outcomes

  • Career advancement or promotion

Employment decisions, security clearance determinations, and interview selections are made solely by employers, hiring managers, government agencies, and other third parties over whom the Consultant has no control. Client success depends on numerous factors including but not limited to: qualifications, experience, market conditions, employer preferences, background investigation results, and individual effort.

4. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES

The Client agrees to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information

  • Respond to Consultant requests in a timely manner

  • Actively participate in the consulting process

  • Implement strategies and advice as appropriate

  • Independently verify all information provided by the Consultant

  • Take responsibility for all application materials and submissions

  • Conduct their own due diligence regarding potential employers

  • Make their own decisions regarding career choices

5. PAYMENT TERMS

  • All fees must be paid in full according to the agreed-upon payment schedule

  • Services will not commence until payment is received (unless otherwise agreed in advance)

  • Fees are non-refundable except as explicitly stated in our Refund Policy

  • Late payments may result in suspension of services

6. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

  • Cancellations must be made in writing

  • Refunds, if applicable, will be processed according to our Refund Policy

  • No refunds will be provided for completed services or for lack of desired outcomes

  • The Consultant reserves the right to terminate services if the Client fails to meet their obligations

7. CONFIDENTIALITY

The Consultant agrees to maintain the confidentiality of all information shared by the Client, except where:

  • Required by law

  • Necessary to provide the agreed-upon services

  • The Client provides written consent to share information

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  • All materials created by the Consultant for the Client become the property of the Client upon full payment

  • The Client grants the Consultant permission to use anonymized examples of work for marketing purposes unless explicitly declined in writing

  • The Consultant retains all rights to methodologies, templates, and proprietary processes

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • The Consultant shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of our services

  • The Consultant's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the Client for services

  • The Consultant is not responsible for actions taken by third parties, including employers, government agencies, or background investigation entities

  • The Consultant is not liable for Client decisions made based on our advice or recommendations

10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose

  • Merchantability

  • Non-infringement

  • Accuracy or completeness of information

11. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIP

The Consultant is an independent contractor and not an employee, agent, or representative of the Client. Nothing in this agreement creates an employment relationship, partnership, or joint venture.

12. COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS

The Client agrees to:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

  • Provide truthful information on all applications

  • Not engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices

  • Take responsibility for the accuracy of all submitted materials

13. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The Consultant may recommend third-party services or resources. The Consultant is not responsible for:

  • The quality, accuracy, or availability of third-party services

  • Actions or omissions of third parties

  • Content or policies of third-party websites

14. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS

The Consultant reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of services after modifications constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

15. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

16. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be resolved through:

  • Good faith negotiation between parties, 

  • Mediation, if negotiation fails. If unsuccessful, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in the Commonwealth of Virginia, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

  • Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Arlington, VA.

  • Each party shall bear their own legal cost.

17. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

18. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms and Conditions, along with any other written agreements, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and Consultant and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, or representations.

19. ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By engaging our services, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms and Conditions

  • You agree to be bound by these terms

  • You understand that the Consultant cannot guarantee employment outcomes

  • You accept full responsibility for your career decisions and application materials
